A round D Color VVS1 moissanite, cut to Excellent grade, held in four slim prongs that leave the stone open from every side. The post and back are 14K gold filled, a solid 14K gold layer bonded to a brass core and stamped 1/20 14K GF, so what sits in the piercing is gold rather than a bare base metal. Sold as a pair with push backs, in five sizes from 4mm to 9mm per stud.

What Carat Size Should I Choose?

All sizes are per stud, sold as a pair. 0.3ct (4mm) and 0.5ct (5mm) sit close to the lobe as quiet everyday studs. 1ct (6.5mm) is the classic solitaire size, noticeable without taking over the lobe, which is why it works as both an everyday pair and a gift. 2ct (8mm) covers most of the lobe and is unmistakably a statement. 3ct (9mm) is the largest size, for maximum presence.

Which Prong Count and Setting Should I Choose?

All four share the same stone and metal, so this is about hold and look. Four prongs show more of the stone, six hold it at more points. Are These Safe For Sensitive Ears?

Yes. The bonded layer of solid 14K gold means skin contact is with gold rather than base metal, and the piece is nickel-free and lead-free, which makes it suitable for most sensitive ears.

Can I Sleep or Exercise in Them?

What Is 14K Gold Filled?

A thick layer of solid 14K gold, at least 5% of the total weight, is bonded to a core metal under heat and pressure. That gold layer is the surface you see and touch, so the warm color comes from real gold and holds through years of everyday wear. On these studs the core is brass, and each pair is stamped 1/20 14K GF so you can see it on the piece itself.

Will These Tarnish or Fade?

With normal wear, no. The surface is a solid layer of real 14K gold, so the warm color comes from gold itself and holds up to everyday wear for years. Avoid prolonged contact with chlorine, harsh chemicals and perfume. If the stones ever look dull that is surface buildup rather than the moissanite, and a soak in warm soapy water with a soft brush restores full sparkle.

Will They Pass a Diamond Tester?

Yes. Moissanite shows as "diamond" on most pen-style (thermal) testers because both conduct heat similarly. Advanced multi-mode testers used by jewelers can distinguish moissanite from natural diamond, which is expected. Moissanite is its own distinct gemstone.
