The six-prong solitaire is the most classic engagement ring silhouette. It frames the stone in a rounded crown on a slim 1.5mm band that keeps the eye on the center. The stone is lab-created D Color VVS1 moissanite, conflict-free and cut to Excellent grade. Moissanite rates 9.25 on the Mohs scale, just below diamond at 10, so it stays brilliant through daily wear.

6 Prong vs 4 Prong: Which Should I Choose?

What Size Should I Choose?

Two things to pick. For the stone: 1ct (6.5mm) is the classic everyday size, 2ct (8mm) has clear presence on the finger, 3ct (9mm) is a bold statement. For the fit: wrap a strip of paper around the base of your finger, mark the overlap and measure it in millimeters against a US size chart. Between sizes, go up for comfort. Can This Be Worn as a Promise Ring?

Yes. A plain solitaire carries no wedding-specific detail, so it reads equally as a promise ring, an engagement ring or an anniversary ring. The 1ct is the usual choice for a promise ring, while the 2ct and 3ct read more as engagement stones.

Which Wedding Band Fits a Solitaire Engagement Ring?

A plain band and a single round stone sit closer to a straight wedding band than a ring with side stones does. The raised setting can still leave a little daylight underneath. A curved band such as the V-Shaped Wedding Band follows the line of the stone and closes it. The two then sit together as a set.

What Is 14K Gold Filled?

A thick layer of solid 14K gold, at least 5% of the total weight, is bonded to a core metal under heat and pressure. That gold layer is the surface you see and touch, so the warm color comes from real gold and holds through years of everyday wear. On this ring the core is brass, stamped 1/20 14K GF so you can see it on the piece itself.

Will This Ring Tarnish or Fade?
