The 3 stone moissanite ring sets a 6.5mm lab-created D Color VVS1 centre between two 5mm stones, all Excellent Cut round brilliants, for 2ct of diamond equivalent weight across the finger. Three stones spread that weight wider than a single solitaire, so the ring reads generous without one very large stone. Moissanite rates 9.25 out of 10 on the Mohs hardness scale, just below diamond at 10, so it resists scratches and stays brilliant through daily wear.
The three stones are usually read as past, present and future, which is why the style is chosen as often for an anniversary as for a proposal. Some wear it for three people, three years, or three chapters of a life together. There is no fixed rule, which is part of the appeal.
The centre is 6.5mm, which is 1ct diamond equivalent weight, and each side stone is 5mm, or 0.5ct. Together that is 2ct total across a span of about 16.5mm, so the setting covers noticeably more of the finger than a 1ct solitaire would on its own.
